Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of learners comes first.

We recognise the importance of robust safeguarding arrangements in every education setting.

Safeguarding is integral to provision.

SENlight’s operating model is being developed around safer recruitment, appropriate checks, professional boundaries, risk management and clear reporting responsibilities.

Safer recruitment

Appropriate vetting, safeguarding training and suitability checks for staff and tutors.

Suitable environments

Assess location, supervision and learner-specific considerations before delivery.

Clear responsibilities

Escalation and recording procedures, with appropriate coordination with commissioning organisations.

Supervision and delivery

For home-based tuition with children under 16, SENlight’s proposed operating rule requires a parent or carer to be present. In schools or suitable community settings, agreed staff or responsible-adult supervision arrangements apply. Tutors do not provide personal care.

Before public launch: This page must be checked against SENlight’s approved safeguarding policy and updated with the verified designated safeguarding lead contact, complaints information, referral/escalation routes and any published policy documents.
